Maleena Kantorski, School Director/Lead Teacher
Miss Maleena earned a BS in Elementary Education from Frostburg State University and a Master’s degree in School Administration from Towson University.  She is an eight-year veteran of Baltimore County Public Schools, where she served as both a teacher and assistant principal.  In 2009, she opened Love and Sun Learning Center to serve the early educational needs of families in the Perry Hall/White Marsh area.  Miss Maleena is certified in CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration.  She feels so fortunate to use her talents to do what she adores each day.

​Miss Hillary Schenning, Preschool Teacher                                                                              Miss Hillary has been a member of the Love and Sun team since 2013.  She is pleased to share her love of art, music and drama with the children of Love and Sun Learning Center. She is an MSDE certified Preschool Teacher and adores the curiosity of the preschool child. Miss Hillary inspires our students to express themselves and build confidence. She is certified in First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration.

Debbie Walsh, Volunteer Tutor and Substitute
“Nanna” has over 25 years experience volunteering in classrooms and working with children.  She quickly earns children’s trust with her kind, caring “Nanna” demeanor.  Nanna is certified in First Aid, CPR and Medication Administration.

Leslie Wald, Successful Movements Enrichment Teacher​                                                           Miss Leslie is a pediatric Occupational Therapist who graduated from Towson University in 2005 with a combined bachelors and masters degree in OT. She has worked in a variety of settings, including 5 years with the Baltimore City Public School System.  Miss Leslie is excited to support our fine motor, gross motor, sensory, visual perceptual, and self-help skill development through a variety of activities each month. She is also thrilled to introduce the Handwriting Without Tears program to Love and Sun! 

Mike Walsh, general maintenance and substitute
Mr. Mike or “Pop” loves to entertain and play silly games.  His handy work built our beautiful classroom and we are thankful to have him on call to address any maintenance issues that may arise.

No two students have exactly the same skills or learning style. That’s why we create an individual learning plan for every child. Your plan will combine direct instruction, small-group work, and one-on-one tutoring in a way that works for your student in our small-class environment.  Our maximum daily class size is 12 students and a minimum 12:2 student/teacher ratio is maintained during our instructional hours.
